We are looking for a Trainee to join our rapidly growing International Development Advisory Services (IDAS) Team!

This is a temporary (4-6 month) full-time paid position based in our office in Helsinki. Success in the trainee period may lead to a full-time position. The trainee program starts in January 2023.


What do we do?

  • Audit and Assurance - IDAS is responsible for implementing multiple global audit contracts with governments, institutional donors, and development sector actors. We carry out a large number of assignments of donor-funded projects across the EU, Africa, Asia, MENA, and Latin America. IDAS team members are also involved in a number of financial statement audits for publicly listed and private sector clients. We also provide assurance services in sustainability and risk management.
  • Advisory and Management Consulting - IDAS is responsible for providing global reviews, assessments, and consulting engagements for a diverse client portfolio. We have specialist expertise in climate and renewable energy, with long experience in programme management and implementation. We work for globally well-known clients around the world.

As a Trainee you will:

  • Work with the audit and advisory teams on international engagements
  • Work on a diverse client portfolio, including participating in various international assignments that cover different sectors and thematic areas
  • Work for domestic and international clients with field work travel possibilities to various parts of the world
  • Work on IDAS business development including supporting with proposals
  • Gain exposure to meaningful and purposeful work, seeing our impact at client, implementing partner and beneficiary levels
  • Have an opportunity to collaborate with different KPMG teams in Finland and globally


Do you have?

  • Ambitious with an interest in financial management, and development cooperation, and seeking a career to work closely with development sector actors and different sectors
  • Strong academic credentials, preferably including a qualification in a relevant field (accounting, business, finance etc.)
  • Experienced in financial management or management consulting, either through work or studies
  • Full professional skills in English. Additional languages such as Finnish, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese or French are an advantage
  • An interest to travel and an interest in what we do
  • Excellent communication and team-work skills
